History—1800 to 1900 AD

The building on the Salzburger Vorstadt 15, in Braunau am Inn, Austria, was the birthplace of Adolf Hitler. At the time, it had a tavern on the ground level and apartments on the upper floors, one of which was rented by his parents, Alois Hitler and Klara Pölzl, before his birth on April 20, 1889.
