Five Brothers and a War
Bruynzeel
In 1930, Leendert van Pelt was transferred to Den Haag. As Sales Manager, he travelled throughout Holland to visit all branch offices, and the factory. He did this throughout the 1930s, and shorty after the war, until his untimely death.
The Den Haag Bruynzeel store at the time was located on the corner of the Javastraat and the Koninginegracht, and was about 6 km (4 miles) from the van Pelt home (shown with the arrow).

Leen worked for Bruynzeel for the exact same amount of time as his father, having started in 1939, although for a segment of that time he was on loan to the Dutch government for development of international trade. Piet and Kees would also work for the company, though for brief periods in the 1940s.
