The Dutch government-in-exile forms intelligence unit CID.

Nazi collaborator Rost van Tonningen (other family members had impeccable service records) appointed guardian for the Dutch socialist party SDAP and the communist party CPN. The latter is banned. Several public figures form De Nederlandse Unie , aiming to rally the public for a pro Dutch, nationalist position.
