Five Brothers and a War

The van Pelts—Jan and Angenita

In 1852, Joost Jan van Pelt married Jenneke Angenita van Pelt, again raising questions about possible incest. In looking at the family relationships, the common thread again goes back to Leendert Huibert van Pelt, who lived from 1739-1807 and married Jenneke Boer in 1767.

The relationship is first cousins, once removed. Jan’s grandfather was Angenita’s great grandfather. Common blood = 1/32 = 3.125%
