The Tadema family, whose daughter Imkje “Immie” later married Jan, moved onto the Speenkruidstraat at almost the same time the van Pelts moved to the Margrietstraat.

This is a rendering of the neighborhood. At the time they moved in, there were only two families that owned cars—the van Pelts, who rented the second home from the right on the street in the foreground, and the end house, on the left of that row of houses. The Tadema home, on the Speenkruidstraat in the back, was also the second one from the right.
