As one moved toward the living room, which was separated from the dining room by a sliding pocket door with lead-mounted glass panels, there was a closet on either side in the dining room. The one on the right—the hallway side—would be the one where the trap door would be installed leading to the secret hiding spot in the crawl space beneath.

A cloth covered chandelier anchored the center of the room, hanging over a circular coffee table. To the right side of the room, the wall was the location holding the three person sofa. In the far corner was a side table. Four chairs were placed roughly in the four corners of the room.
