Five Brothers and a War
Razzias at Home
The Germans were literally only a few inches above the heads of the boys. This rendering still has the Persian rug runner, the flooring, subflooring and floor joists removed to show the position of the heads of the boys with the boots of the Germans. The other piece of “artistic license” is that the hiding spot was in the pitch dark—there was absolutely no light in the crawl space.
