Leen and Kees— Onderduikers

In a subsequent visit to the farm after the war, in 1950, Kees introduced his then-fiancée, Flora van der Lecq, to JanKees, who had not only gotten married in the meantime to Dirkje, but also had two children, Jan (1947-2004) and Nita (1949-). This photo is a combination of the poor quality black and white shot taken in 1950 overlaid on top of a current photo, taken by Jan’s widow, Willemijn (“Willy”) Aantjes, taken in April 2015, 70 years after Leen and Kees lived there and 65 years after the visit by Kees and Flora. Note that if nothing else, the photo shows the size difference between Kees and JanKees. The photo bottom left is of Flora, JanKees and Kees in the adjacent canal. JanKees died in 1975 at the age of 56.
