Aantjes Update

The Aantjes family, with JanKees (1921-1975) dominating the upper left, and his brother, Jan (1920- 1995), dominating the right side. Their parents are in the middle of the photo. To the left is JanKees’ wife, Dirkje, and their five children, Jan (1947- 2004), Nita (1949-), Henk (1951-), Ad (1954-) and Nelly (1957-). On the right is Jan’s wife (they married in 1951), Jaantje and their four children, Corry (1952-), Kees (1954-), Ijda (1956-). Not yet born was Adri (1963-). This photo appears to have been taken about 1958. The two people most helpful in filling in details are the wife of Jan (who is standing next to his father, JanKees), Willemijn (“Willy”) and the wife of Kees (standing in middle next to his grandmother), Arja.

Jan and Willemijn Aantjes moved to a different farm, about one kilometer away, in 1979. Their son, Ewoud Jan, is the current farmer there, where he lives with his wife and children. The photo to the right is their current farm.
