Five Brothers and a War

V-1 and V-2 Program

For reference purposes, the distance from Den Haag to London is about 325 km, roughly the same as from Toronto to Ottawa, or from Los Angeles to the Nevada state line on the way to Las Vegas, or from Edmonton to Calgary. A bomber taking off from Holland could reach London within 40 minutes. Ipswich would take about 25 minutes, travelling at World War II airplane speed. A V-2 rocket arrived in about five minutes. Antwerpen is only 90 km away, so the attacks on the port and city were close to instantaneous.
