Five Brothers and a War
Operation Manna/Chowhound
According to plan, on May 2, the ground phase of bringing food in to western Holland began. Operation Faust was set up on time with 12 platoons (8 Canadian and 4 British), with thirty trucks apiece, each of which was loaded with 90 tons of food and medical supplies. In order to adhere to the agreed-upon schedule, another platoon had to move every half-hour from the Wageningen facility. Through this methodology, 1,000 tons were able to be delivered on time.
