History—1500 to 1600 AD

The royal burial vaults are beneath the tomb of Willem. All Dutch monarchs have been buried in the Nieuwe Kerk, but in addition, their consorts and the majority of the members of the Huis van Oranje were also buried there. In all, there have been 46 burials within the Royal Vaults dating back to Willem.
