Backyard in Margrietstraat

From left: Kees, Henny, Jan, Diena Rijke (a niece of Leendert), Wim van Rossum and Piet van der Grien, a friend of Leen. Kees’ trousers were, unceremoniously, called “Drollenvangers” (“turd catchers”). The photo was taken in the backyard of Margrietstraat 20, and the rabbit house is still in the background. The photo was likely taken in the last half of 1945 or the first half of 1946.
