Postscript: Jan Gijsbertus van Pelt (1924-2011)

Jan died on March 3, 2011. He was cremated on March 9, which would have been his 87 th birthday. His ashes were spread over the beautiful dunes in Kijkduin, a place that meant a great deal to him. He loved the sea air, the beach, and certainly the dunes. Of course, he grew up minutes away on the Margrietstraat, and his wife of more than 61 years, Immie, grew up a few meters away on the Speenkruidstraat. They spent many hours walking and riding bicycles there, so it is fitting that his ashes were left there.
