With the airfield in Ockenburgh so close, the flight path into the runway brought planes directly over the Margrietstraat/Speenkruidstraat neighborhood, at very low altitudes. When the Germans attacked, their aircraft, like this Luftwaffe Junkers-52, brought the war very close to home.
