Five Brothers and a War
How Did Ordinary Germans Do This?
That ordinary Germans could be involved in massive genocide is a whole different issue. Yet in today’s society, gangs of thugs are able to wreak havoc on large cities, such as Chicago. How is it that ordinary American youths can be convinced to shoot innocent people to death, by the thousands? The answer to both examples lies in the fact that a person will do the unthinkable and the unspeakable when there are enough people in the group to condone or encourage it. Gang rapists gain their bravado because there are others condoning the rapes. The mantra that “Everyone was doing it” or “I was only following orders” was heard in Nurnberg, but is still heard today in American courthouses, and courthouses throughout the world. Hideous crimes are rationalized by criminals everywhere, every day. The beheadings carried out by a British Islamic terrorist speaks to this issue.
That the name “Hitler” is, and will forever be, equated with pure unadulterated evil is justified. However, there have been any number of Hitlers since World War II (Mao Zedong killed tens of millions, Pol Pot killed 1.5 million, Stalin killed millions, Saddam Hussein gassed his own population, killing hundreds of thousands, etc.) There are plenty of Hitlers alive today, and there are plenty of supporters of those Hitlers who are all too willing to do whatever their leader orders them to do. In some circumstances, given the opportunity, they would kill as many innocents as Hitler did. Ironically, some modern Hitlers are still intent on Jewish extermination, albeit for slightly different reasons.
“Jihad John”, a British citizen, beheading an innocent victim in the name of Islam, and with the explicit or tacit blessing of millions of Muslims.
