Jan’s Enslavement in Germany

The German family which was responsible for Jan’s “employment” in Tübingen. Importantly, one girl was Jan’s girlfriend at the time, and she and the other two were raped by the soldiers of the Moroccan army on the day of Jan’s liberation.

In a 1988 visit to Tübingen, Jan initially had trouble finding the house where he was enslaved, due to post-war construction of adjacent housing. Here he points to the house he lived in. The open window on the top floor was his room. As he was Aryan, he got his own room, and the Pole and the Frenchman had to share.
